Nantanee K. Parent of a STEP Participant

“Through her participation in STEP, our daughter, Monica, gained valuable vocational skills in a variety of settings in accordance with her interests. STEP’s individualized programming and internships in small-group settings in the community gave participants the skills and experiences needed to be successful in job applications and in their future workplaces. Monica got her first paid job at one of her STEP internship sites. A couple of months later, she was offered another part-time job after one interview. STEP managers’ awareness of the importance of the transition from job training to actual paid is critical.

Continued participation in STEP, even while working at two part-time jobs, has been important in maintaining and enhancing Monica’s skills for career and personal growth.”

Sincerely,
Nantanee K.
